Despite the wintry weather our 2010 Grotto held on the 4th, 5th,11th and 12th December raised £700 for the Centre, which is fantastic.
We have published a selection of photos taken over the two weekends, but as we had over 200 taken we unfortunately can't publish them all here.
If you would like to view your photos at the Centre, telephone us on 01229 432599 or email Debbie at debbierobley2@btconnect.com to arrange to view them and we can then send them to you as an email attachment. Finally we would like to say a big 'Thankyou' to everyone who came to the Grotto and helped raise funds for BDDA.

BDDA Christmas Grotto 2010
If you’re in need of a good dose of festive cheer, why not visit our annual Christmas Grotto, held at the Centre in School Street, Barrow. Often quoted as being the best grotto in town, it truly is a delight for all the family. Everyone is welcome to come and meet Santa in his toy workshop, where every child will receive a present from him.
The Grotto has pushchair and wheelchair access and is also suitable for visually impaired youngsters as it is full of different textures and perfumed with frankincense and myrrh.
The Grotto is open from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th December and also Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th December. The entrance fee is £2.50 and refreshments will be available. Hope to see you there!

Keswick to Barrow walk 2010
As this is the first post of the new blog, apologies for bringing some slightly old news but there are some people who did a big thing on the BDDA's behalf this year, namely being mad enough to walk the 40 miles from Keswick to Barrow to raise money ultimately for the BDDA!
Now bear in mind that many of our members have disabilities so it was only right that the job of walking should be the responsibility of the many friends of the BDDA. Recruitment began and family members and friends as well as a good quota from Ulverston Ladies Hockey Club set off one early May morning and I mean really early, for the journey to Keswick, if you see the photographs you will have some idea of exactly how early!
I'm glad to report that with the fantastic assistance of the support crews, all team members finished, albeit minus a few toe nails and with the addition of plenty of blisters!
Thanks to all the walkers and support, see you next year!
